Pure Natural Heather honey gathered by British bees from one of the largest mid-altitude heathlands remaining in County Durham, painstakingly extracted. Not as sweet as other honeys: Liquorice, slightly bitter Caramel, woody, fruity, tangy, marmalade.

At Humble Bee we are excited to bring you this very local and delicious ling heather honey. This honey differs from standard honey because its thixotropic, you can tell a good Heather honey by looking for the air bubbles suspended within the honey.
This honey has been collected from HedleyHope Fell by our diligent little humble honeybees during august and september. Why not try one of our limited number of jars.
 
*Dr Pollock said: Heather honey was shown to be particularly effective – killing MRSA microbes and three other types of bacteria at concentrations of 2%. “Honeys derived from one type of flower were shown to be the most effective, and while Manuka is currently the only medical grade honey, the study reveals that other honeys may be just as suitable for such purposes.
